The project
After the success of the first two team editions, the Accademia dei Maestri del Lievito Madre e del Panettone Italiano is working on the third edition of the Panettone World Championship – Team Competition, scheduled for 2027.
The event will see teams composed of master bakers from different countries competing in a challenge that celebrates the excellence of artisanal Panettone at an international level.
The Panettone World Championship was created with the aim of promoting and spreading the culture of artisanal Panettone worldwide, bringing together different traditions and approaches of those who produce this cake using exclusively sourdough starter, the true identity and distinctive element of each territory.
It is the only team competition in the world where products are made “live”, in full compliance with strict competition rules and under the careful supervision of inspectors. To support the jury’s work, all activities in the laboratories are filmed through 24/7 live streaming cameras.
